CONE aims to remain open to different people and democratic opinions. That openness requires clear boundaries where the dignity, freedom, peace or safety of others is attacked.
Collaboration instead of violence
We support trade, dialogue and cooperation across borders and reject glorification of violence, wars of aggression, intimidation and the dehumanization of others.
Make room for democratic disagreement
Different political, economic and social views may be visible as long as they respect the rights of others and do not call for hatred, violence or oppression.
Consistent rules instead of arbitrariness
We aim for transparent rules, explainable decisions and consistent standards. Deliberate deception, corruption, abuse of power and arbitrary double standards conflict with that commitment.
Local actors deserve a future
We want to preserve economic diversity and give people and businesses tools that help them remain visible, competitive and connected even in markets with very large players.
Facts, transparency and willingness to learn
We want to be able to correct mistakes, mark uncertainty and distinguish opinion and claims from evidence-based information.
Openness with clear boundaries
CONE is not a political camp. Our line is not between left and right, conservative and progressive, or between nations. It is between legitimate peaceful pluralism and structures that systematically strip people of rights, threaten them or dehumanize them.
What we support
Peaceful democratic participation, rule of law, human dignity, free formation of opinion, fair economic opportunity, science, education, voluntary engagement, associations, businesses and organizations acting constructively.
What we will not normalize
Totalitarianism and dictatorship, Nazism and dehumanizing ideologies, incitement to hatred or violence, glorification of war, terrorist or coercive cult-like structures, systematic exploitation, corruption and deliberate deception.
The presence of a party, organization or person on CONE is not a political or ideological endorsement by CONE. Lawful democratic actors may use the platform under the same transparent rules.
